South Luangwa is the home of the walking safari. For decades, specialist guides have taken guests out on foot to explore this exciting and varied terrain, home to prolific populations of lion, elephant, hippo, crocodile and antelope, with the added highlight of frequent sightings of leopard. The reserve is bisected by the meandering, perennial Luangwa River and on game drives and walks you will extensively explore this beautiful region encompassing dense mopane woodlands, open grasslands and riverine forest where gigantic jackalberry, sausage and wild fig trees grow.
